This piston is machined from aluminum with high precision and then heat treated for optimum strength.
Check the cylinder for wear and ovality. A cylinder wears unevenly, so it is important to check the cylinder dimensions carefully.
Always replace old engine seals with new ones! The piston is mounted with the arrow pointing to the exhaust side. The circlips are carefully placed with the opening facing down.
Install the rings on the piston and be aware that some rings can be easily misplaced. Check that the rings enter the groove fully and that the gap closes completely. Lubricate all parts with 4-stroke engine oil.
Place a new cylinder base gasket on the crankcase, compress the piston rings and let the piston slide down smoothly. To install the cylinder head, the crankshaft must be turned by hand to lower the piston. Check that the piston with the rings moves freely in the cylinder.
